Choosing a Good Pilates Instructor

Achieving any of the benefits attributed to working in the Pilates method will rely upon the quality of instruction you receive and the degree of supervision you are under.

To be effective, your Pilates instructor should be trained through a reputable Pilates training organisation and should adhere to certain guidelines. Life & More teaches the Polestar Mat Pilates method.

 Choosing a Good Pilates Studio

 Pilates can be practiced in:

  • A group class environment  (class size should be a minimum number of 6:1 for a junior instructor and a maximum of 20:1 for a senior experienced instructor)
  • A controlled ratio student session (maximum 4:1 ratio)
  • A private individual session.

All sessions should be approximately 50-60 minutes.

At Life & More we believe in small group sessions of no more than six participants so that all participants receive the individual attention of their Pilates instructor to ensure correct technique and posture throughout the session.
